IMO i dont think the rounds suit your car i like them on fords and a few others but for some reason it doesnt seem to suit your car but hey thats only oone persons opinion

you should get rid of those side moldings either shave them off or paint them the color of the car or silver or something

DEFINITLY NO!!!! I hate painted big bumpers on a MK2. The only thing in that pchop that should happen is the paint matched grill spoiler nothing else.

but ya not a fan of the stripes and matched bumpers either,
the only thing that will probly happen is the grill spoiler,

i didnt even notice the matchin bumber...I think a black grill spoiler will look much better on there too...but maybe im on crack cause i dont really know what im talking about.

X2 thats exactly what I would do to this car and I would also get red/clear tails and clear front markers to match the sides and then the car would be done besides a paint job over the whole car but keep it the same color.
