PostSubject: May thee Rest in Peace   May thee Rest in Peace Icon_minitimeSun Jan 25, 2009 10:39 pm

I'm sorry to be the barrier of bad news... But today approx. between 2-7 p.m.
A once rare car was caught on fire today. To my knowledge only the engine bay was harmed. The interior seems to be in decent condition and I'm glad to say no one was hurt.
We can call wish the best of luck to Georgie in this hard time and to all the previous owners who I know loved this car.

Sad Sad

He got back from the Valley , was driving down the road (not to far from where Langille got his beetle shaved)
and then it stalled , he pulled over and boom..flames . He said he put the fire out. Then turned his key to unlock the steering and it started again. So wiring issue is my guess.

So here’s the scoop….driving on Lakeside dropping off a buddy after a solid weekend in the valley, pulled over to let him out and noticed some smoke coming out from under the hood with no sign of flames yet. I figured the car was having temp problems again. I tried to pull of to the side to see what was going on and the car didn’t even have enough power to move 5 feet. I popped the hood, got out and when I opened the hood flames busted out at me. For the next 5 min my buddy and I played fire men trying to extinguish the flames. The only thing that burnt was the hood and the motor. Not to sure what I’m going to do with it now but I’m open to suggestions. (Part it out, sell it whole, keep it and work on it in the future)???? ....In the mean time I’m looking for a cheap Mk3. So if you see anything let me know. Or if you interested in adding a Corrado part to your Mk2 let me know…lol Thanks for all the remorse and don’t you guys worry ill be back in a Dub soon enough!! Its just going to take me a little bit to save up some money so I can get the one I want.
