| that motor has been around for a few years now....like 15??? I believe the Preludes came out in 1993 with them. Stock HP was about 187bhp, but the Type-R could get you 220bhp. So, add a turbo or 2, a chip, exhaust, intake, intercooler...etc...and your numbers get insane. It was because of the tuning scene that modded this particular motor that people cared less about V8's and raw power....and thus the muscle car era truly faded away to the up and coming generations of car enthusiast. | |

| everyone short forms this but the actual motor that you will find in the preludes from 1993 was the H22a4 the 4 standing for the 4 cylinder, this motors are built to last and to take a beating on the stock internals of this specific motor you are good to punch out 320 ish hp before you would have to upgrade them internal components. with small mods like smaller under drive pulleys intake and a proper exhaust you get excellent performance from it all once you look at the turbo side of these engines watch out v8's but like puck said it was motors like this that brought the v8's down , also another good engine was the 4g63t in comparison they are pretty much the same except one says Vtec the other says holy fuck i got balls! the 4g63t could be found in eclipse's talon's lasers and believe it or not there was the old school elantra's that just had the 4g63 in them and a simple turbo setup was all you needed. with these 2 simple egines both being 4 cylinders this is what really struck the enthusiast of this day and age. | |

Yeah look at TBNE's Civic on CO, thats got a turbo, intercooler, and a few other goodies and thats running around 300hp out of a H22. | |
