You make it sound like no big deal to buy a $200,000+ supercar when you could build a much faster car for under $20k. if I could afford supercars...there's no way in HELL that I would still own a VW.....sorry. Sure the cost is minimal to make one faster then a supercar, but in the end, it's still just a VW. But, I'm sure if one could afford an exotic car then one could mod it to go faster as they please. It means total status to own a supercar, only something commoners like us dream of. Ever since I was a kid, I've drooled over supercars. Knowing full well I'd never get to own one. So, Ive settled on the next best thing....something with CLASS. Supercars are in a class all on their own....and to own one (stock or not) puts you in a different class/status which means you're doing pretty darn good in your life/job/career. To envy people that have exotic cars is gay.

Dont you buy the one in the brochure because you want it tho? Yeah but I dont mean new cars in general I mean these "supercars". What are you going to be able to do to it to make it standout/yours/unique compared to some everyday car that you could make just as powerful for way less and probally make it look way better than a concept looking car. come on Mark, think outside the box...if someone could afford a supercar...I'm sure they could afford to mod it as well. And I'm sure money isn't an issue. think about it....a stage 3+ kit for an "everday car" would probably run close to $10 g's after all the upgraded parts are done with the proper software, etc....people that own exotics spend $10g's on insurance/year and think nothing of it....hell, their rims are probably $10g's. Money is not an issue with exotic car owners....that's why they have one........

True, but in my own personal opinion I'd love to see two guys buy A) a supercar B)a everyday car done properly with go fast bits to match the "supercar". Then to see the supercar shown up by this "grocery getter" and look like an idiot cause he just came from the dealer from spending $200,000 on this supercar and just got shown up by lets say $60,000 in total in mods/car, "grocery getter". Check out this guys win/lose list, I love it, it proves my personal opinion perfectly. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2367385

| well I doubt the guy that spent $200,000 at the dealer is crying because he spent $200g's....if anything he'd be grinning ear to ear. Again....money wouldn't be an issue of which is faster or better. Like I said, if he spent $200g's on a car I'm sure he could throw down another few to make it even faster is all i meant. But with it stock and to race a modded car isn't even a contest....stock exotics nowadays aren't as fast sold out the lot. Aftermarket parts are probably only bought at the original dealer. Now, race both the same cars that are both modded.....and let's see who wins......it ain't gonna be no GG Eclipse he didn't race any exotics....take note of his losses to a Scubie STi and an EVO VIII ....2 very classy rides and I doubt anyone would use an Eclipse to get groceries....well except Cody | |

It's the class and exclusiveness of the car. You could hand me any modded *Tuner* car/ "grocery getter" you want and if i was handed a RR Phantom, it'd be the phantom hands down... It's all about the class Mark, all about the class. In the mean time, you're trying to tell me you'd rather have a "grocery getter" than a Ferrari?

| The funny thing about supercar owners is that they don't use their supercars to get groceries, and also own a grocery getter that is way nicer than your grocery getter. | |

| Like I stated before I'm not one for these "super cars" and never will be, I will never own one and does not bother me what so ever because I'd rather make it to my own than just go get a car that is the exact same as in the dudes Car & Driver thats sitting next to me. Built NOT bought! | |

| I don't think anyone on here cares that they'll never own an exotic supercar.
I respect your opinion, but if you were born into a wealthy family, there is no chance you would be driving around in a modified Civic.
Yes you can "build" a 400hp family sedan that will smoke the door off a Lambo, but that's not the point.
When it comes to cars: Status is bought, not built.

| Well I'm still not a fan of them overpriced funky looking spaceships and thats just my own personal opinion. If I ever had the money to afford one of them and live comfortly I would still not buy one. Thats not saying I would put a shit load of money into my Civic, thats saying that I would buy something new that I like and do it up to my specifications. But anyways this post is old I have said my opinion and you guys have yours a lot of you dont agree with me on this but thats fine its your opinion. | |

| Just out of curiosity. If you were a multi-millionaire and money was not an issue whatsoever. What new car would you buy to "do up to your specifications"? | |
