Alright guys, it's official, we're doing the trail again in 2009!
To start i'd like to thank Ralf for getting the ball rolling on this and putting some in thoughts on the table!
We did this cruise last year, fairly late into October, and except for the windy/cold conditions, it couldn't have been a better time!
Here's a rundown of how the weekend should play out!
Saturday Morning, October 3rd, 2009If you're coming from the mainland, Halifax and South....
- Meet at Enfield Big Stop for a 7am departure. Fuel food and co-pilots are a good idea!
- Regular stops will be made along the way for those who would like to join!
If you're coming from the Mainland, Halifax and North....
- Meet at the Ultramar on the side of the 104 in Antigonish (Or earlier if you can time it right). We'll be leaving their at approximately 8:45 to continue our Journey.
If you're coming from the Island itself....
- We'll be arriving in baddeck sometime around 10:30, this is a great time to grab some eats if you haven't yet, as their is a Tim's and Irving combo there. We shoot the shit and meet and greet from about half an hour or so, and hit the road around 11 to begin the trail....
The trip around the trail is a fairly leisurely adventure, we didn't rush last year, and didn't hesitate to stop and all of the rest stops to take picks (or have a drink in the case of some of the passengers. Lots of scenery and good times to be had.
We'll arrive at the Cottages in Inverness Beach Shortly after supper. Last year they provided us a BBQ to use, so it might be wise to grab some things at the local grocery store.
Soon after, much debauchery and retardation will ensue!
Sunday Morning, October 4th, 2009We'll be trying to hit the road mid-morningish to head home, after a massive scoff at the Coal Miners Cafe (They loved the insurgence of 30+ people for breakfast, said they couldn't wait for next year) We'll take the coastal route back towards the mainland, stopping at the Big Stop at the Causeway for a rest stop.
From their, it's kind of a free for all, we managed to keep a close group last year all the way back to Enfield, and i'm sure this year will be the same.
Let's keep a running tally of who plans to attend, we'll mark you as confirmed when people have reserved their Cottages!
Of course more details are sure to pop up as time goes on, we're still almost 3 months early on this.
Start planning, and of course, discussing.

10 cottages have been set aside for us at MacLeod Beach Cottages for the 3/4th of October.
Same area as last year, they are very excited to have us back.
Everyone can call and make their own reservations, she's going to give us a group rate, just say you're with CustomObsessions and they will take care of us!
You can reserve your cabin with a CC, and pay cash when we we arrive if you'd like.
