| someday you kids will get it. When? That's entirely up to you...... | alan_morton wrote: | | ... i don`t think i woulda voted for him tho his name rhymes with iraq and bomb hahah good man tho |
and you know this because.........??? What, his faboulous speeches on TV??? Did any of you kids go out and vote for your own Prime Minister?? Are any of you actually old enough to be eligible to make a stand?? If so, did you deliver??
the American Youth turnout rate was it's highest ever. A majority of them voted the Democrats in. They wanted change from GWB's fuckups...
I wouldn't have voted for neither men.....I'm not American......I'm Canadian.....and yes, I did vote.....both times (Municipal and Federal). So, when you kids are finished getting your heads out your ass and start thinking outside the box....stand up and make a difference. The world is in for some BIG hurt economically. And this is a global matter....which affects us all. Start pinchin' them pennies boys.....because it's just gonna get rougher. _________________ 07 VW GTI 2.0T | 3" APR dp | Milltek cb | Koni | Karthoums | Votex | Forge | EvoMS | APR Tuned™

The young people may have no say when it comes to the actual poll, but there is no way in hell you can say they dont have no opinion when it comes to our elections. _________________ 2003 Tiburon SE - Bone Stock. 1997 Jetta GLX VR6 - Tucked Away.

truth right there....
however, the American system is not too indifferent from ours. Technically, voters aren't choosing a candidate but a slate of electors who have pledged to vote for that candidate when the Electoral College meets.
The candidate who wins the most votes in each state normally wins all of that state's electoral votes. With 538 electors up for grabs, the candidate with more than half -- 270 -- wins the presidency. The number of electors from each state equals the number of senators and representatives the state sends to Congress. If no candidate receives 270 electors, the House of Representatives decides who the next president will be.
to actually make a change in this world your voices MUST be heard. It was proven in the USA. Take a look at the poll results by territory.... http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/calculator ....the largest populations are the East and West coasts. The "old-world" Republicans occupy the mid-States.....and compare that result to when they voted GWB in 4yrs ago....... http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/09/map.past.elections/index.html ....places like Florida, Colorado, Nevada have a high concentration of youth and swapped sides...think about it, those 3 states are Spring Break getaways for college kids. California and NY have populations greater then Canada, so imagine what would be said and heard, for that matter.
ps. yes I took Political Science at SMU been studying poll results for about 20yrs now _________________ 07 VW GTI 2.0T | 3" APR dp | Milltek cb | Koni | Karthoums | Votex | Forge | EvoMS | APR Tuned™
